The "No-POST" Survival Guide
There is no silence more deafening than pressing the power button on a new build and hearing... nothing. Before you assume a "Dead on Arrival" (DOA) part, 90% of boot issues in 2026 come down to these three culprits.
1. The "Ghost" Power Switch
It sounds silly, but check the I/O switch on the back of your PSU. With modern high-wattage units (1000W+), these switches are often stiffer or have a "zero-fan" mode toggle next to them that can be confusing. Also, ensure your front panel connectors—those tiny 1-pin wires—are on the exact pins specified in your motherboard manual.
2. The RAM "Click"
DDR5 slots can be notoriously stubborn. If your PC turns on but the DRAM debug LED stays red, your sticks probably aren't seated. You should hear a distinct double click (one at each end) to ensure the pins are fully engaged.
3. Display Cable Roulette
If the fans are spinning but the screen is black, check where your HDMI/DisplayPort cable is plugged in. Always plug it into the GPU, not the motherboard. Even with 2026’s improved integrated graphics on Ryzen 9000 and Intel Ultra chips, your BIOS may not default to them if a discrete card is detected. How to solve you
